RECYCLE & REUSE – LET'S DO YOUR PART!
We noticed that many companies are not recycling and even for those who recycle, many throw away papers along side with stationeries e.g. clear folders, plastic folders, arch files, metal clips, ring binders, etc. Many of these stationeries are still very new, so why are they throwing away? We believe that many of these companies may be too busy to notice, find it troublesome to remove or don't bother to re-use them. But most of these stationeries still look new & re-usable, isn't it a waste to be thrown away? Especially those that cannot be recycled and are thrown away before they are really spoilt.At Marcom Recycling Point, we want to take part in the promoting of recycling, reusing and reducing wastage. To support this mission, and to encourage more companies to recycle, we will retain such stationeries if applicable and give to companies who pledged their recyclables e.g. paper documents, newspapers, magazines, CDs, cartridges, etc and don't mind reusing used stationeries (or to other suitable channels if necessary). In this way, these companies can help to reduce wastage and also save when such stationeries don't have to be bought on a regular basis. If you plan to throw away stationeries that are still in good condition, please call us too (if not working, please dispose them accordingly as most of them cannot be recycled - check with us if not sure).
We are grateful to have 138 companies pledge their support to our Recycle & Reuse Program one way or another since it was promoted on 21 Aug 08. Click here to view. We hope more companies regardless big or small will support recycling, reusing and to help cut down wastages. Wicare is now able to extend FREE counselling service to widows, their teenagers and young adults on personal, family and work issues.Geraldine Leow, Jacqueline Park and Joan Swee are past and current committee members of Wicare. They are intern counselors, under supervision, pursuing professional counselling studies with Swinburne University of Technology - Melbourne, ECTA (Executive Counselling & Training Academy) and Mount Elizabeth Charter, both of Singapore.The counselling sessions will be at Wicare office, and each session will be between 1 to 1.5 hours, on a case-by-case basis. Referrals to professionals and other help agencies will be recommended as needed.Please ring Amy Seah 6354 2475 to arrange for counselling appointments.

28th to 1st March, Sunday: Details being worked out, but we leave early Saturday morning and come back late Sunday evening, included 1/2 day visit to old town, eco mangrove tour by boat, see traditional handicraft and knife making. Email if interested.

March 7th Saturday: Weeding and gardening at Pasir Ris Park, meet 9.30am sharp at Pasir Ris MRT. We should be done by noon.

7th Saturday: Mangrove clean-up at Pasir Ris Park, meet 1.30pm sharp at Pasir Ris MRT or 2.00pm at Pasir Ris Carpark "C". We should be done by 4.30 pm. 14th Saturday: Free guided walk at Changi board walk. Meet 4.00pm sharp at coffeeshop nearest to Changi Hotel, flat ground, walk about 2 1/2 hours. After which we can pig- out at Changi Makan centre. 1

4th to 20th: To Donsol, Philippines to snorkel with whale sharks and nature treks. Details and prices being worked out by travel agent. Those interested please email name, mobile, DOB and how many people. I am thinking of a maximum of 12 people so first come first served.

April 10th to 18th: Big Splash!
