Habitat for Humanity Singapore is aiding a collection drive for Radion International, a social enterprise aimed at helping refugees in Thailand.Below are the list of items that are the priority of Radion:
New Hygiene Items (Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap)
New Medical/Pharmaceutical items (first aid kits/gloves/masks/bandages)
Working Electronics/Technology Items (Solar Panels, Water filtration systems, torch lights, batteries)
If you have other items listed in the flyer below, do bring them as well although they are not as needed.

Exclusive Dining Event (for christians only)

Dear All,

1) We will be organising a dinning event on 31.1.2009, 7-10 pm. The entire venue (central location) has already been booked exclusively for this event. So kindly invite your single christian friends along for this event.

2) Interested participants, kindly register yourself via email with your
- full name as per nric,
- christian name if any,
- chuch attending, and
- mobile number to gtky.admin@gmail.com . Venue will be disclose to the participants.

3) Due to space constraints, the full capacity of the venue is only around 50 so kindly register early to avoid disappointment.

4) The price of the dinner is to be settled by each individual depending on the food ordered. Price is around $10-20 dollars. Some of you might want to consume the full course wedding style banquet menu which may cost slightly more, around 30 dollars.


Points to note:

1) Punctuality is greatly appreciated.

2) It is great to catch up with old friends. Nevertheless, try to know someone new.

3) Allow other participants space to know other people. Do rotate and move around.

Nature Walk - 7 Feb 09 (For single Christians Only)


Dear all,
After feasting for the New Year, it's time to do some workout to losethose unwanted fat. Let take a nature walk/climb at Bukit Timah Hill on
7 February 2009, Saturday at 8:00am.
There is a little exibition to view while waiting for the walk/climb to start. As there is
quite a bit of climbing steps involve. And the uneven trail which may be slippery
or muddy we would recommend those joining us to wear cover foot wearplease avoid slippers. - Drink lots or water in the evening and morning to stay hydrated. Bring a water bottle (with enough water)- Have a good breakfast (not provided) you going to need the energy to climb- Wear comfy loose clothing please avoid heavy jeans- Bring insect repellent if you don't like mosqitoes :)- Do not join the walk if you are not feeling well.- Please please travel light - a small haversack or bag to carry your stuff is enough
as a 3-4 hours outing.- Bring rain gear - umbrella, rain jacket, poncho etc.- Please don't remove any plants,insect etc from the reserve....Take pictures,leave footprints. Optional- Bring in snacks (CNY goodies) and share with your new friends! of course you carry up lah!- Binoculars - lots of interesting wildlife if we keep quiet and share what you see with others- Hat/cap- Camera (with waterproof bag) Its going to be a leisure walk up to the summit. Proberly 2 hours or less. We will split into 2 groups
and the walking pace base on the slowest in the group. So don't rush :) When the going getstough....your brother and sister next to you will encourage you through. We will reach the summit
and have some rest and refreshment. perhaps some games if permits. Then proceed down the the
visitor centre. wash up and off for lunch nearby. We will have lunch at Bukit Timah Hawer Center
around 1230pm (provided the walk is smooth).
Our aim is to have fellowship with each other, appreciate God's nature and have fun :)
Oh! Not forgeting burning off those extra weight from the festive session! Getting to Bukit Timah Nature ReserveBy BusSBS service 170. TIBs services 67, 75, 171, 173, 184, 852 and 961.Alight along Upper Bukit Timah Road, opposite Bukit Timah Shopping Centreand Beauty World Centre, or along Jalan Anak Bukit, opposite Courtsfurniture store, and walk to the end of Hindhede Drive.By CarTravelling from the city, follow the direction of Upper Bukit Timah Roadtowards Woodlands, make a u-turn just after the Courts furniture store andturn left into Hindhede Drive. Limited parking is available at thefoothill of the reserve. To minimise our impact to the reserve, especiallyon weekends, you may like to take the public transport instead.

Bak Kwa

My Christain friend, Timothy (Timothy_LIM@score.gov.sg), works for Score, and is helping his ex-inmates to sell bak kwa. These inmates will bbq the bak kwa and Timothy will deliver them to the customers. It's $40 per kg. Min purchase is 1 kg.

Sentosa Flower Festival

Dear brothers and sisters,

Join me for a time of fun and fellowship at Sentosa this Saturday at the start of Sentosa's Flower Festival. For those who like flowers and photography, you can snap to your heart's content this Saturday.

Program: Proceed to Imbiah station. 5.00p.m. to 7.30 p.m. Photo admiring and taking. Free and easy. Do mingle and pair off with new friends. 7.30 p.m. assemble at Imbiah station, proceed for dinner at Subway sandwich at Harbourfront. Activity ends around 9.30 p.m. after dinner. Those who are on and able to wake up for church the next day, please continue to go for drinks :)

Project R.I.C.E., organised by Red Cross and SMU students.

20 volunteers are needed to help on this Sunday (18 Jan) with the repacking of rice into 5kg packets and on the distribution of the rice to the Care Corner at Block 158. Anyone interested and available to help out this meaningful project to reach out to the needy residents?

Thank you for your great response for my last BBQ dinner at Suntec in October 2008. There were a total of 42 ladies and 28 gentlemen who turned up for the event. There is already a couple who have been dating since November...

Cycling to Sentosa Cove from Siloso Beach (For single Christians)

Hiking at Macritchie Reservoir Park (For Single Christians)

Date: 17th January 2009 (Saturday)
Meeting time: 8.00 a.m.
Meeting place: Venus Drive carpark. Alight at bus stop opposite flame tree park condominium.
Hiking distance: 10 kilometres.
Hiking time: Fast 2 and half hours, Slow 4 hours ( We want to walk at a comfortable pace, so will take about 4 hours.)
Program: Hike from Venus Drive carpark to HSBC Tree-top walk over hanging bridge, then to Jelutong tower and lastly over board walk and ends at Macritchie main entrance.
After hiking: take a bus about six stops to Casurina at Thomson road for roti prata or wanton mee and duck rice. Programs ends after lunch.
Objectives: to exercise, enjoy God's creation and fellowship with people who can wake up early on Sat morning
